This
head was built from original drawings of the Bensen B8 Offset Gimbal head,
I have added bearings and trunnions to the lateral and longditudal forks
in a similar style to the teeter forks, rather than have the bolts bearing
directly onto the aluminium. This involved some changes to
the shape of both sets of forks but still retaining the key dimensions of
the Bensen head. Making the head is not a
difficult task if you have the machines and skill to use them, but it is
time consuming because each set-up is only for one or two components, it
would be true to say that you will spend far more time setting than
machining and scrapping a part will add even more set-up time. Add to this the problems of getting the correct materials in small
quantities at reasonable cost and you can see that unless you enjoy
working your machines, building a head makes no sense ,IT IS FAR MORE COST EFFECTIVE TO BUY A COMMERCIALLY BUILT
ITEM.
But if you still fancy hours of frustration and turning good metal
into swarf, drawings for the ORIGINAL Bensen B8 Offset Gimbal Head can be
downloaded from the Drawings page, they are in a ZIP file in AWD format and
can be viewed in IMAGING. Drawings of the modifications I have made
can be seen HERE.

Обратите
внимание:
продольный
рычаг не
имеет
отверстий,
но это не
принципиально,
т.к.
отверстия
служат
только для
снижения
веса рычага.
Это
снижение

достигнуто
и другими
способами,
